CONTESTS
The Learning Force has spent the past 12 years developing a vision for educational reform that empowers students in ways never before imagined. Thanks to The First Five Days and the Internet, students can share ideas for creating a better world and develop the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century at the same time. What else are we doing?
We use contests to build our digital lessons.
The vision is to have celebrities demonstrate lessons for the different modules. Because Fearless Mastery is not about passive education, we have contests to give students a chance to show their stuff and possibly win the thrill of co-creating a lesson with one of the celebrities.
For some of our lessons, we are excited to work with celebrities who have agreed to participate in our contests and filming. Our contests therefore offer the winners a chance to work with a celebrity as we create the lesson.
For other lessons we want the world to choose the celebrities.This is how:
1. First a promo video introduces a demo lesson from Fearless Mastery.
2. Contestants post Youtube videos showing:
- how they would make the lesson funny and informative, and
- what celebrity (or group) they want to perform with and why.
3. The online community views and comments on contestants and celebrity choices.
4. The chosen celebrities are flattered and agree to participate.
5. An "official" lesson is filmed with the winners and the celebrities.
RESULT: Learners around the world have access to an effective 21st century learning tool that includes the "official" version plus the contest submissions! They can choose their favourites from a huge library for fun, individualized learning.
